RUSSIA ENERGY SECTOR A DISCUSSION OF SECURITY MATTERS OF FUEL AND ENERGY COMPLEX FACILITIES HAS BEEN HELD IN THE FRAMEWORK OF RUSSIAN ENERGY WEEK

Moscow, October 5. – The round table “Safety in the Fuel and Energy Complex. New Challenges” was held at the International Energy Efficiency and Development Forum “Russian Energy Week”.

The experts discussed statutory regulation of the safety of fuel and energy complex facilities, law enforcement practice and the improvement of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of safety of fuel and energy complex facilities, as well as the state control over the safety of energy facilities.

Acting Director of the Department of Administrative and Law Project Work of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Oleg Umanets, said that in accordance with the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, one of the main directions of ensuring national security in the economy for the long-term perspective is to increase the level of energy security. “Energy security includes sustainable provision of domestic demand for energy sources of standard quality, increased energy efficiency and energy saving, competitiveness of domestic energy companies and energy producers, prevention of shortage of fuel and energy resources, creation of strategic fuel reserves, reserve capacities, production of component equipment, stable operation of energy and heat supply systems”, explained Oleg Umanets.


The representative of the Ministry of Energy added that one of the main doctrinal principles of ensuring the energy security of the Russian Federation is the reliability of the operation of fuel and energy facilities.

During the discussion, it was noted that to use the capabilities of the security structures of the fuel and energy companies more effectively, it is advisable to organize a comprehensive interaction with the structures of the Ministry of Energy of Russia on the issues of ensuring the safety of energy facilities.
